Blood Donation Drive for Ukrainian Defenders
Last week, with the support of the «Donor Odessa» project and the administration of the children's city clinical hospital No. 3, a significant blood donation campaign was held to assist injured defenders of Ukraine. Medical professionals from the Odessa Regional Blood Transfusion Station facilitated the mobile donation efforts.
Over the course of two days, staff from the pediatric hospital's departments in the Kyiv and Peresyp districts of Odessa participated in blood donations. On the second day, employees from the Primary Health Care Center No. 5 and the Consultative-Diagnostic Center No. 29 also joined the donation efforts. In total, around 50 donors contributed, saving dozens of lives.
Since the onset of the full-scale war, the demand for blood donations has remained extremely high. Today, blood is essential for saving both military and civilian patients.
Any interested groups can organize a mobile blood donation event at their own premises. To do this, it is necessary to:
1. Organize a group of willing blood donors, ideally 25-50 individuals. Ensure that potential donors do not have absolute contraindications or temporary restrictions on donating blood.
2. Agree on a convenient date by calling 0668422387 or messaging on Telegram @donorodesa.
3. Prior to the blood donation, it is essential to follow certain dietary restrictions and medication guidelines.

The «Donor Odessa» initiative has been helping to find blood donors for the city’s medical facilities since the early days of the full-scale war. During this time, over 9000 donors have been engaged.
