Stroke Prevention Day in Odesa
On October 29, in honor of World Stroke Day, medical institutions in Odesa organized an event focused on the prevention and early detection of stroke risk factors. This initiative was backed by the Department of Health of the Odesa City Council and the Odesa City Health Center.
On that day, anyone interested could undergo free medical examinations, including blood pressure measurement, pulse rate assessment, blood glucose level testing, ECG, and receive referrals for laboratory tests and consultations with specialists. Doctors provided patients with advice on stroke prevention.
As a result of the event, 1735 patients underwent preventive examinations, leading to the discovery of 294 cases of elevated blood pressure and 102 cases of high blood glucose levels. A total of 867 ECG tests were performed, with 136 patients referred to a cardiologist. 895 patients were sent for laboratory tests.
