Establishment of a New Community Space in Odesa

A new space is set to be established in Odesa, aimed at improving the interaction between the community and local authorities - the Odesa Community Hub.

This was announced by the city's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, during an extraordinary Executive Committee meeting.

According to the mayor, this hub will serve as an inclusive environment where community organizations can operate, hold meetings, and implement projects to enhance the living conditions of city residents and internally displaced persons.

To facilitate this, a two-story building on Uspenska Street has been transferred to the Odesa Municipal Youth Center. The renovation will be managed by the Capital Construction Department, which has already prepared the necessary project documentation.

“Our active youth have shown their capabilities. In December, the city won a grant from UNDP amounting to nearly $150,000, and will act as the contractor for the repair work. The completion period is set for March 15, 2025,” the mayor stated.

According to the Executive Committee's decision, the project documentation has been transferred from the Capital Construction Department to the Odesa Municipal Youth Center. The mayor instructed the head of the Capital Construction Department to assist the youth in implementing the “Odesa Community Hub” project.
