Last year, the announcement was made regarding the start of filming for the biographical drama titled «Odessan Life». This is the first artistic film that portrays the life of a prominent Ukrainian director who lived and worked in Odessa from 1926 to 1929.
The next phase of filming is scheduled for April-May of this year, as reported by the Odessa Film Studio.
Filming will take place on the streets of Odessa, at locations of the Odessa Film Studio, and also in Kyiv.
«This film is a tribute to Odessa in 1926, which was a hub of literature, cinema, and arts; it is a dedication to Odessa that recovered from the First World War and the Civil War; Odessa, which lives by the principles of NEP, grows, evolves, and exemplifies resilience and vitality. Odessa, captivated by cinema, poetry, jazz, boxing…», stated the Odessa Film Studio.
Andriy Osipov, the director of the Odessa Film Studio, noted that the studio finished the previous year with a profit and is currently a stable enterprise. Therefore, they are not only continuing to shoot a unique historical film about Dovzhenko but are also working on new projects.
