Commemoration of Holodomor Victims in Ukraine
On November 23, Odessa held a commemoration for the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
This tragedy remains a significant chapter in the history of the Ukrainian people, marked by immense suffering and loss. During the Soviet era, discussing this event was forbidden, and memories were passed down orally through generations.
Today, we speak out loudly so that the world knows and remembers the millions of innocent lives lost to the genocide perpetrated by the Soviet regime. This year, we again honor the victims of Stalin's genocide against the backdrop of a full-scale war, which is accompanied by genocidal acts by Russia against Ukrainians.
Every year, on the fourth Saturday of November, Ukraine remembers the victims of the Holodomor of 1932–1933 and the mass artificial famines of 1921–1923 and 1946–1947.
