16 Days Against Violence in Odesa: The Importance of Combatting Abuse

From November 25 to December 10, 2024, Ukraine is hosting the annual campaign «16 Days Against Violence», with Odesa participating as well. The official launch took place yesterday in the City Garden.

Structural units of the Odesa City Council, organizations engaged in the prevention of domestic violence, NGO representatives, and city residents took part in the event.

«The issue of violence is a global concern, and everyone can become a witness or victim. It is crucial to speak out against this issue, as only then can we prevent new cases of violence and its repercussions,» - emphasized the Director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy, Olena Kytainska.

During the event, specialists from mobile psychological support teams provided consultations to those affected by domestic violence and distributed informational literature.

Women and girls received flowers as a symbol of resistance against violence.

The main goal of the «16 Days Against Violence» campaign is to raise public awareness about domestic violence issues and ensure equal rights for everyone.

The Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Odesa City Council is the organizer of the campaign.
