Celebration for Kids: Meeting Service Dogs
In honor of World Animal Protection Day, an event was held in Odesa for boys and girls displaced by Russia's war against Ukraine.
The youth eagerly watched the performances of service dogs from the police canine center. The dogs showcased their skills in following commands, searching for hidden items, and apprehending offenders.
"Our service dogs perform complex tasks daily and are invaluable partners in maintaining law and order. At the same time, they provide comfort and trust to those who have experienced trauma. We aim for children to learn to see every living creature as deserving of love and respect," emphasized the head of the canine center, Olena Chernilevska-Isaiko.
The head of the juvenile prevention department, Victoria Chalova, noted that children in difficult circumstances particularly need positive emotions. Interaction with animals helps them feel secure. Such meetings also aid in fostering a humane attitude towards animals.
At the end of the event, children took photos with the dogs, creating lasting memories of a day filled with genuine emotions.
