Celebrating Donors: Lives Transformed
A day of gratitude: lives transformed by donors. Odessa is the first region where those who have received a second chance at life through donation have gathered: recipients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
This is not merely an official event. It is an opportunity to look each other in the eyes, embrace, communicate sincerely, share silence, and express thanks.
Four heroic stories. Four successful transplants:
- 17-year-old Olena — liver transplant.
- 7-year-old Tykhon — heart transplant.
- 6-year-old Dmytryk and 45-year-old Alla — kidney transplants.
On this day, we remembered not only those who survived but also bowed our heads in respect for those who made these stories possible — the donors.
These were adults from Odessa, along with one child. Their parents, shattered by grief, were able to save other lives in the darkest moment of their lives. This choice stands unmatched in strength, love, and sacrifice. We are grateful. We remember. You are our heroes.
