Mental Health Support Event at the University
A thematic event titled «Supporting Mental Health: Symbols of Support» took place at the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynskyi. This initiative was part of the nationwide mental health program «How are you?» launched by the First Lady of Ukraine.
The goal of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to create a space for dialogue and experience sharing.
Over 40 participants attended in person, while more than 100 joined online, including students, psychologists, educators, and community activists.
Welcoming speeches were given by the Deputy Head of the Odesa Oblast State Administration, the university rector, and the regional coordinator of the «How are you?» program. They emphasized the significance of consolidating efforts in mental health and the crucial role of youth in building psychological resilience.
The program included a thematic quiz, interactive activities, and practical tools for supporting mental well-being.
The event was moderated by the head of the Mental Health Center, who presented relevant statistics regarding mental health service inquiries.
At the end of the event, participants engaged in a gratitude practice, creating a symbolic «Tree of Gratitude» with personal wishes and supportive messages.
This event confirmed the growing interest in mental health issues and the importance of continuing such initiatives in the region.
The development and implementation of the nationwide mental health program «How are you?» is supported by the Mental Health Coordination Center of the Cabinet of Ministers with expert assistance from the World Health Organization.
