Odesa Mayor Meets with German Politicians

The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov, met with the German politician, head of the Centre for Liberal Modernity, Mr. Ralph Fuchs, and Ms. Mariluise Beck, who is responsible for Eastern and Central Europe.

During the meeting, they discussed the current security and humanitarian situation in Odesa, the plight of internally displaced persons, and cooperation with international partners.

Energy issues and preparations for the upcoming heating season were also addressed.

In collaboration with the Centre for Liberal Modernity and the German agency GIZ, a project is being implemented in Odesa to beautify the park “Against Oblivion”.

Due to the full-scale invasion, the project’s execution has been suspended, and the funds provided by the German partners have been redirected, with their consent, to meet civilian needs like generators, diesel fuel, the installation of a solar power station on the roof of a medical facility, uninterruptible power supplies for traffic lights, tactical first-aid kits, and more.

The agency also delivered humanitarian aid to Odesa: 2 Mercedes-Benz ambulances, 10 Mitsubishi L200 pickups, 5 Ford Transit minibuses, 2 cargo trucks, a garbage truck, tourniquets, and various rescue kits.

Odesa expresses its gratitude to the German partners for their continuous support and assistance.
