Zelensky's Meeting with American Businesses: Support and Stability

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with representatives of American companies that are members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, discussing the critical importance of support from the United States.

This was reported by the Office of the President on July 2, as noted by "European Truth".

Attendees included representatives from companies such as Horizon Capital, Cisco Systems, Unilever, Carlsberg, Avrora Multimarket, Microsoft, KPMG, Winner Imports, Coca-Cola, Cargill, CHS, Citibank, AON, CBRE, OTIS, KBR.

Also present were members from Pfizer, Google, Baker Hughes, WTW, Wooden Horse, Parsons Corporation, Visa, AGCO, McDonald’s, Honeywell, ADM, Raytheon, MasterCard, Auterion, CRH, TechMet, Argentem Creek, Boeing, D&M Holding, IBM, Shield AI, and the president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Andriy Gunder.

Zelensky expressed gratitude towards American businesses for their presence in Ukraine, emphasizing that it signifies stability in the country. He stressed the importance of bipartisan support from the U.S.

"We must all avoid signals of reduced or slowed assistance from the U.S. This is crucial for both American and Ukrainian businesses, as Patriot systems do not choose whom to protect from Russian aggression. Air defense systems save lives and preserve economic opportunities for everyone," stated the president.

Andriy Gunder highlighted Ukraine's resilience during wartime and noted that 88 members of the chamber have relatives serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also mentioned that 53% of companies have suffered damage to their facilities and offices due to Russian shelling.

"One of the things we always request from the U.S. government is to provide protection for American businesses operating here and to supply missiles for Patriot," he said.

Participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of continuing support and reinforcing Ukraine's air defense.

Notably, on July 1-2, reports emerged in American media that the Pentagon had suspended the delivery of certain air defense missiles and other precision munitions to Ukraine due to concerns that U.S. weapon stocks had become too depleted.

Later, President Zelensky stated that Ukraine is "working at various levels" to clarify details with the U.S. regarding military assistance after reports of the suspension.

The WSJ reported that the decision by the Trump administration to suspend some military aid in Ukraine pertained to weapons that were already in storage in Poland.
