Mental Health Awareness Day in Odesa

Last week, a special event was held in Odesa focused on raising awareness about mental health for adults and children.

This initiative was organized in honor of World Mental Health Day with the support of the Odesa City Health Department and the Odesa Health Center.

During the event, family doctors, pediatricians, and psychologists engaged with adult patients and parents, explaining the importance of caring for mental health while providing recommendations for its maintenance and self-help strategies.

When necessary, doctors referred patients to psychologists operating in Odesa's medical institutions as part of the national mental health program “How Are You?” for free psychological support.

As a result of the campaign, over 550 Odesa residents received consultations — about 450 adults and over 100 children. Additionally, psychologists provided 115 extra consultations.

To maximize outreach, mobile campaigns were held in open areas — parks, recreational zones, and adjacent spaces near medical facilities.

Everyone interested had the opportunity to learn about preserving and improving mental health, participate in workshops, and engage in interactive games for children. Following the mobile event, around 500 people participated, including more than 150 children.
