Educational Event for Holodomor Remembrance Day in Odesa

The Odesa Museum of Genocide «Territory of Memory» hosted a lecture dedicated to Holodomor Remembrance Day for teachers of social science disciplines.

During the event, attention was drawn to the significant historical lessons of genocides in the 20th century across Ukraine, emphasizing their relevance in the context of the current Russian-Ukrainian war.

Teachers were introduced to the museum's educational projects and provided with recommendations for teaching the tragic pages of Holodomor to various student categories, considering age differences and the current realities of wartime in Ukraine.

City teachers discovered unknown aspects of the regional history of Holodomor by attending an engaging lecture rich in facts. Specific examples illustrated the signs of genocide against Ukrainian peasants in 1932-1933 and the Ukrainian national elite in 1930-1933.

Furthermore, educators explored the museum's exhibition «Territory of Memory», dedicated to the theme of genocides.
