Honoring the Contribution of the Vietnamese Community in Odesa
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov, awarded the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Vietnam to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thach, for his contributions to the development of social initiatives in the city.
During the war, the Vietnamese community has been actively supporting social institutions in Odesa and providing assistance to the local zoo.
Specifically, thanks to the initiative of the ambassador and the support of the Vietnamese community in Odesa, a new aviary for green peacocks was built at the zoo.
"Many Vietnamese have found their home in Odesa. When the city provides comfortable living conditions, it is only logical that residents take responsibility for its development," emphasized the ambassador.
At the event, the Vietnamese community showcased their national traditions and culture.
The Mayor of Odesa expressed gratitude to all participants of the event and to the Vietnamese people, highlighting the importance of caring for our smaller brothers, especially during these challenging times.
He also confirmed that the restoration work at the Odesa Zoo, which began before the invasion, will continue after our victory.
