Strengthening Collaboration: Mastercard and Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the global technology company Mastercard are set to enhance their collaboration to boost cybersecurity and digital maturity among entrepreneurs. The memorandum was signed by First Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Mastercard's President for Eastern Europe Yasemin Bedir, and the General Director of Mastercard in Ukraine and Moldova, Inga Andreeva, during a meeting with the Minister's advisor Valeriia Ionan and members of the Mastercard regional team.

Mastercard has been one of our key and long-standing partners. Together, we have implemented numerous projects that assist businesses and millions of Ukrainians in their daily lives. This new memorandum marks another milestone in our partnership. We will work together to improve financial literacy, develop digital tools for entrepreneurs within the Diia.Business framework, expand card products, advance GovTech initiatives, and cybersecurity projects.

The focus areas of collaboration include:

  • enhancing the digital maturity of small and medium-sized enterprises and supporting Ukrainian businesses in conjunction with the Diia.Business project;
  • developing digital products for safe payments, digital identification, and access to public services;
  • improving financial literacy among Ukrainians and businesses through the Diia.Education portal and the Mriya app;
  • advancing GovTech initiatives in partnership with the Global Government Technology Centre Kyiv;
  • launching new educational projects on cybersecurity and sharing expertise to support the FinTech sector.

For many years, Mastercard has collaborated with governments worldwide, supporting their digital transformation journeys. In Ukraine, we are systematically implementing initiatives that promote the country's digital progress, and we are excited to embark on this new phase of our partnership. Our unwavering focus remains on developing digital financial tools for Ukrainians, supporting entrepreneurs, and enhancing the digital maturity of businesses. Additionally, we will deepen our collaboration on cybersecurity solutions as a strategically vital area for strengthening the resilience of the financial and digital ecosystem.

Through our long-term collaboration, Mastercard and the Ministry of Digital Transformation have executed several important initiatives aimed at scaling digital services and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. These include the launch and growth of the Diia.Business portal, offline consulting centers in Ukraine, and the establishment of the first Diia.Business center abroad in Warsaw.

Mastercard has also contributed to the development of financial functionalities for the e-Entrepreneur service, which allows entrepreneurs to access necessary financial services online simultaneously with business registration. Furthermore, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Mastercard, and partner banks have implemented several educational grant programs to support entrepreneurs, including “Own” and “Trajectory 2.”
