Alarming Fire Situations in the Odessa Region
Over the past week, rescuers in the Odessa region have responded to more than 220 incidents to extinguish fires in dry vegetation areas. The total damages have reached nearly 31 billion hryvnias.
According to the press service of the State Emergency Service of Odessa, the overall area affected by the fires amounted to 125 hectares.
“These are not just numbers from the State Ecological Inspection of the Southwestern District. These are destroyed ecosystems, dead animals, and birds. In the worst cases, such fires can destroy homes and take human lives,” the SES reported, once again urging people not to burn grass and waste and to follow safety regulations in open areas.
