Arrest of Suspect in Deputy's Murder

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on the night of August 31 to September 1 the arrest of a suspect in the murder of prominent deputy Andrii Parubii.

This information was shared by Zelensky on his social media accounts.

"The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko and the head of the Security Service Vasyl Maliuk have just reported the arrest of the suspect in the murder of Andrii Parubii," Zelensky stated.

Zelensky also mentioned that necessary investigative actions are ongoing.

"I instructed to present available information to the public. Thank you to law enforcement for their prompt and coordinated efforts. All circumstances surrounding this horrific murder must be clarified," he added.

Update: Later, Zelensky reported that he had a conversation with Attorney General Ruslan Kravchenko.

"He (Kravchenko - ed.) reported on further procedural steps regarding the suspect in the murder of Andrii Parubii. Initial testimonies from the suspect have been obtained. Urgent investigative actions are currently underway to establish all circumstances of this murder," Zelensky noted.

It’s worth mentioning that earlier, Zelensky assured that the investigation into the murder of deputy Andrii Parubii is being conducted "virtually around the clock."
