Extension of Assistance for IDPs: Key Updates

In August, the deadline for providing living assistance to certain categories of IDPs, who had received it for the previous three six-month periods, came to an end. The government opted to extend these payments for another six months, until February 2026.

This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity.

The payments apply to individuals with disabilities of groups I – III, families with children under 18 years old (or up to 23 if the children are studying), and families consisting solely of non-working individuals.

Additionally, a number of changes have been made to the procedure for assigning living assistance to IDPs, including:

having funds in a bank account exceeding 100,000 UAH will no longer be a barrier for granting assistance to orphans, children deprived of parental care, and children temporarily placed with relatives or in foster homes;

if a non-working capable individual registers with an employment center as unemployed after their assistance was stopped, their assistance will be reinstated (from the month they begin working).

The continuation of payments will occur automatically, and no additional applications are required.

The department reminded that the amount of payments is:

  • 2,000 UAH - for one adult;
  • 3,000 UAH - for one child or IDP with a disability.

Payments are made monthly for each family member of IDPs from vulnerable categories or those with low incomes.
