General Budanov's Visit to the Black Sea
Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, checked the positions of Ukrainian soldiers at Zmiinyi Island and on gas extraction platforms in the Black Sea.
He reviewed the forces and resources involved in the defense of the waters, particularly the so-called 'platforms' that were returned to Ukrainian legal control due to successful operations by the GUR and other components of the Security and Defense Forces.
During his trip to the Black Sea region, Budanov held a meeting with officers regarding further actions within the overall strategy and awarded GUR fighters of the 'Timur Special Unit' for their professionalism and bravery in defending our country during the war against Russia.
They also honored the memory of the soldiers who fell during the liberation of Zmiinyi Island and the Ukrainian territorial waters of the Black Sea from Russian occupiers.
