MAGURA UNITED: CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCH IN SUPPORT OF UKRAINE'S MILITARY INTELLIGENCE
On July 12, a charity football match was held at the Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium in Kyiv, featuring stars from the Ukrainian arts, veteran athletes, and military intelligence officers. The event, known as «MAGURA UNITED», aimed to support the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The goal of the event was to raise funds for the purchase of modern MAGURA drones for military intelligence operations.
Before the match, the National Anthem of Ukraine was played, and a moment of silence was observed to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence.
Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov expressed gratitude to the players for their support of military capabilities.
“Today, MAGURA is not just a drone; it is a symbol of Ukrainian innovation, recognized worldwide for its successful combat operations. Recently, we officially recorded five records achieved by military intelligence using these drones. Thank you to everyone who supports MAGURA and helps make our country stronger,” said Kyrylo Budanov.
The first symbolic kick of the match was made by a special forces soldier from the GUR, known by the call sign “Khan”, who is part of the unit utilizing the latest maritime drones.
Two teams competed in the match: “Victory Formula” and “Ukrainian Artists Team”, which included actors, athletes, TV presenters, musicians, volunteers, veterans, and military intelligence personnel. Coaches for the teams were Oleksandr Holovko and Oleksandr Hatskevich.
Among the participants were musicians, actors, television personalities, and famous former football players who supported this charitable initiative.
“During the fundraising campaign for the new batch of MAGURA drones, we have already gathered over 30 million UAH. This funding will be used to manufacture MAGURA V7 strike drones and W6P reconnaissance modifications. We thank everyone who contributed to the fundraising and organization of this charity match. The fundraising continues,” shared the head of the charity fund, Diana Podolyanchuk.
