Massive Fire Breaks Out in Odesa Region: Firefighters Respond

A significant fire broke out in the Odesa area. A large area of dry grass and wheat was burning. More than 20 personnel battled the flames using 5 pieces of equipment. This was reported by the emergency services press office.

The incident occurred yesterday, June 18, during the day outside the village of Tykhe. There, dry grass and wheat at the roots were on fire. Firefighters promptly extinguished the blaze covering an area of 1.7 hectares. Additionally, a wheat field spanning 100 hectares was saved.

"Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage are being determined. The emergency services deployed 2 units of equipment and 11 rescuers, while the National Guard's fire department contributed 1 piece of equipment and 4 personnel, and local residents provided 2 units of equipment and 6 individuals", the emergency services reported.
