Tragedy at the Coast: Explosion in Zatoka
An unfortunate event occurred today, June 7, in the village of Zatoka, part of the Karolino-Buhaz community.
It has been preliminarily established that during swimming in the sea, an explosion of an unknown object occurred, resulting in the deaths of two men.
The identities of the deceased are currently being established.
A task force from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district police, specialists from the explosive ordnance disposal unit of the National Police in Odesa region, and employees of the State Emergency Service are working at the scene.
All circumstances of the incident are being investigated, and the question of entry into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under paragraph 1 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine marked as “accident” is being considered.
Police urge residents and visitors to Odesa region to strictly adhere to wartime regulations: do not access beach areas of the Black Sea coast of Odesa region that are prohibited. Please do not disregard safety measures and relax only on those beaches that have been checked by specialists for the absence of dangerous objects and allowed for visits.
