Introducing a Streamlined Deep Research Feature in ChatGPT
OpenAI launches a new, streamlined version of the deep research feature within ChatGPT. This feature is available to all users at no cost but comes with usage limits.
For paid subscribers, the simplified version will automatically activate once the limit for full Deep research usage is reached. "Responses will be shorter yet maintain the same depth and quality you are accustomed to," — states OpenAI.
The tool operates on the o4-mini model — a simplified version of the large o4 model, which results in lower processing costs for requests. Consequently, this allows OpenAI to increase usage limits.
