New Horizons for Student Governance in Odesa
Student leaders from municipal secondary education institutions in Odesa convened for the inaugural meeting of the High School Parliament for the 2024/2025 academic year.
During the meeting, students reviewed the Parliament's activities for the 2023/2024 academic year. The most active participants were awarded certificates from the Odesa City Council's Department of Education and Science.
Attendees included graduates and former members of last year's Parliament who came to support the new candidates and share their experiences.
Following this year's voting, the elected members of the High School Parliament presidium for the 2024/2025 academic year are Alina Dildina (Kyiv District), Elizabeth Buzinovska (Primorsky District), Milena Mala (Hadzhybei District), and Daria Boyarska (Peresyp District).
Leaders of the district parliaments will join the Youth Council under the Odesa Mayor and represent the interests of Odesa's youth in the city council, participating in the formulation of youth policy.
During the meeting, projects to be implemented in the 2024/2025 academic year were approved. The Parliament's key focus areas include protecting socially vulnerable populations, promoting healthy lifestyles, ecological initiatives, cultural and charitable events, volunteering, and more.
