New Partnership for Ukraine's Energy Sector

Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal and EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso have signed a significant agreement for Ukraine's energy sector.

As reported by "European Truth", Shmyhal announced this on his Facebook page.

The agreement involves Ukraine receiving 270 million euros under state guarantees, accompanied by a 140 million euro grant from the Norwegian government.

This will enable Naftogaz of Ukraine to import substantial volumes of natural gas in preparation for the upcoming heating season, Shmyhal explained.

He also noted that since the onset of the full-scale war, the EBRD has mobilized over 6 billion euros for Ukraine in loans, grants, and guarantees.

Previously, it was reported that by 2025, the EBRD plans to invest at least 1.5 billion euros to support Ukraine's economy and businesses during wartime.

Of this, 1 billion euros will be allocated to support the energy sector.
