Enhancing Road Safety Measures in Odesa
The Patrol Police in Odesa has identified 25 critical intersections that significantly affect road safety in the city.
During emergency power outages, the Municipal Utility "SMEP" collaborates with the Patrol Police to monitor traffic light functionality.
All key intersections are equipped with large uninterruptible power supplies, ensuring traffic lights can operate autonomously for 4 to 8 hours when fully charged.
If necessary, the Municipal Utility "SMEP" replaces batteries and, in urgent cases, works with the Department of Transport and Traffic Organization to deploy generators to maintain traffic light operations.
While replacing batteries and connecting generators, the Patrol Police manage traffic flow at the intersections.
Drivers are urged to remain vigilant and adhere to traffic regulations.
