Fare Adjustments for Public Transport in Odesa
From 2023 to 2025, many cities in Ukraine have seen an increase in public transport fares, even with the ongoing state of war.
The current fare rates for public transport in Odesa were set in 2021 by the city council.
In 2023, rising costs for parts and materials have necessitated a review of passenger transport fares.
The municipal enterprise «OMET» calculated new fares for public transport in line with existing regulations.
According to the new calculations, the fare for transporting one passenger will be 18.50 UAH, while the fare for the funicular will be 17.00 UAH.
The Department of Economic Development has verified the calculations for legal compliance.
To maintain service quality, the enterprise will introduce a new fare for single journeys - 15.50 UAH.
Discounts for students and pupils will remain in place: the fare for pupils will be 2.50 UAH, for students - 4.50 UAH, and for the general public - 8.00 UAH.
These new fares are expected to take effect from January 1, 2025.
Additionally, as of January 1, an increase in fares to 22 UAH within the city and 45 UAH for journeys beyond the city limits is planned.
