Equine Therapy for Veterans: A Path to Healing
In one of Odessa's equestrian sports complexes, the inaugural equine therapy session took place for veterans and individuals with disabilities from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This event marks a significant step towards supporting and rehabilitating veterans.
Equine therapy is a unique rehabilitation method that combines movement, interaction with nature, and emotional balance. Activities with horses help to reduce stress levels and improve emotional well-being.
For participants, this meeting was not only a beneficial activity but also an opportunity to experience an atmosphere of trust and mutual support.
Such practices assist veterans in uncovering their inner resources, which often lie hidden deep within, yet always remain with the individual.
«This is more than exercise. It is a journey to oneself. A horse can sense a person's emotions even when they do not fully understand them», the participants noted.
The event was held at the initiative of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Odessa City Council in collaboration with the KU «Service Office «Veteran Hub».
