Revitalization of an Apartment Building in Odesa: New Challenges and Solutions
The restoration of the apartment building at 24 Serednya St., Block 4 in Odesa continues after it was damaged by massive Russian missile strikes.
The building suffered significant damage to its external structures and partitions. Experts note that timely stabilization efforts have helped prevent the collapse of the structure.
Recently, active restoration work has commenced.
«Restoration work is being conducted in a high-risk area due to the presence of 11 floors above with no vertical support over approximately 100 square meters», emphasized Artem Zakharov, Deputy Director of the Odesa City Council's Department of Municipal Economy.
«Most of the demolition work is completed. We have moved on to the more challenging phase - restoring the reinforced concrete frame. The first vertical column element has been installed. We have started preparatory work for pouring the second floor slab, which will strengthen the structure», said Anatoliy Rahulin, Director of LLC «Stikon».
Builders indicate that this work is quite labor-intensive and complex, with no analogs in Ukraine. To preserve all parts of the building, work must be done in sections and on specific areas. This takes more time but is more effective for maintaining the multi-storey structure.
The completion of the work is scheduled for the end of June 2025.
