Closure of the Season at the Inclusive Beach in Odesa
On September 27, in Odesa, at the inclusive beach on the 11th station of the Great Fountain, the official closing ceremony of the rehabilitation season took place.
Since its reopening on July 1, following extensive renovations, the beach has welcomed more than 25,000 people with disabilities and their companions. Notably, 12 trips were organized for 300 mobility-impaired residents of Mykolaiv. Mykolaiv City Council member Yuriy Stepanets noted that Odesa has been providing Mykolaiv with drinking water since the early days of the full-scale invasion, and today it offers people with disabilities the freedom to enjoy the sea and wellness.
Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov emphasized that the city has ambitious plans for the development of inclusive recreational areas. He promised veterans-rowers the establishment of a specialized base for sea rowing.
«We are currently implementing three barrier-free routes in Odesa: “North - South” in partnership with the Ministry of Development, a tourist route through the city center, and a wellness route focused on the sea, sun, adaptive sports, and communal leisure,” said Hennadiy Trukhanov.
Throughout the day, heartfelt thanks were expressed to those who made this special area possible, including its careful maintenance and quality service. Deputy Mayor and veteran of the Armed Forces Serhiy Kotsiuba admitted that he would miss the Saturday gatherings at the beach with his comrades and is already looking forward to the next season.
In the coming days, conservation measures will be taken to preserve the equipment and prepare for the new rehabilitation season.
