Youth Muay Thai Championship in Odessa
The Youth Muay Thai Championship is currently underway in Odessa, showcasing over 260 athletes from 15 regions of Ukraine.
One of the highlights for spectators was the Wai Kru ceremony, a traditional dance that expresses respect for coaches, parents, and the martial art itself.
The young athletes received a motivational message from the honorary president of the National Muay Thai Federation, Odessa's mayor Gennady Trukhanov:
«You are already champions, for you have chosen strength, endurance, and dignity over easy paths. Train hard, invest your heart — and the results will speak for themselves. It is individuals like you who build a strong Ukraine».
The championship will last for several days, with many exciting matches scheduled ahead.
The winners of the national selection will represent Ukraine in September at the World Championship and will also participate in other international tournaments.
