Wimbledon Draw Results: Ukrainian Players Set for Challenge
The draw for the main draw of the third Grand Slam tournament of the season – Wimbledon – has taken place, assigning opponents to Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremska, and Yulia Starodubtseva.
Svitolina (14) will face Hungarian player Anna Bondar (75) in her opening match. They previously met at Roland Garros, where the Ukrainian triumphed in two challenging sets.
Kostyuk (26), seeded 26th, will compete against qualifier Veronika Erjavec (171, Slovenia) in her first match. This will mark their first encounter.
Yastremska (41) drew a tough opponent in world number two Coco Gauff from the USA. Gauff has won all three previous matches against Yastremska, including a match in Madrid this April.
Starodubtseva (67) will face Francesca Jones (125, Great Britain), who received a wildcard. These two players have never met before.
The main draw of Wimbledon is set to begin on Monday, June 30.
