Exploring Forensics: A Practical Experience for Future Police Officers
Future law enforcement officers had the opportunity to dive into the world of forensics and acquire practical skills from police specialists, which will be beneficial in their future careers.
The meeting took place at the training complex of police actions in typical and extreme situations at the Odessa Academy of Police.
Experts from the forensic support sector of the National Police in the Odessa region, including Tetyana Skyrtenko, Natalia Rybak, and Pavlo Apalkov, shared their insights with cadets from the investigative unit preparation faculty.
The police officers not only explained the nuances of their profession but also demonstrated the crucial role of a specialist during a crime scene investigation. At a specially staged location, future investigators observed how to search for and document evidence, collect physical evidence, and package it correctly.
During the event, cadets tried on special protective outfits used by police in their daily work, filled out fingerprint cards, and collected biological traces.
The event unfolded in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere, with the greatest reward for the organizers being the genuine interest and active participation of the youth.
At the end of the meeting, forensic specialists wished the cadets confidence, resilience, and professional growth.
