Safety Checks on Odessa Beaches: Ongoing Inspections

In Odessa, inspections of beach areas are ongoing to comply with the joint order of the Odessa Regional Military Administration and the military group «Odessa» concerning safety.

According to the directive from the head of the regional military administration, opening beaches during wartime is only possible after all safety measures are completed and a relevant act is obtained from the Odessa district military administration.

Last week, inspections revealed 11 beaches operating without official permission in Odessa. During the check on August 19, an additional three beaches in the Kyiv district were found violating the order.

These beaches include: «Nadiya» (located between the collector and traverse No. 17 of the second stage of the coastal protection system); «Chayka» (between traverses No. 6-A and No. 6-B of the second stage of the coastal protection system); and the beach at the 15th station of the Great Fountain (LLC «Atlant Sea Group»), located between traverses 14 and 15.

The City Engineering Protection Division has prepared relevant acts, and tenants have been issued orders to immediately address the violations. All documents will be forwarded to district and regional military administrations for further actions.

The city authorities once again emphasize: the operation of beaches without official permission from the regional military administration is a gross violation of the law and poses a danger to vacationers, directly threatening their health and lives.

Inspections of beaches will continue, encompassing not just safety requirements but also ensuring free access along the water's edge.

Additionally, the Barrier-Free Council is conducting inspections of beaches to assess accessibility for persons with disabilities and limited mobility groups.
