Cultural Exchange: Odesa Festival in Austria
This October, the Austrian capital will host the conference titled «Days of Friendship», featuring the festival «Golden Violins of Odesa» on the 18th.
This event was discussed during a meeting between Odesa's Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov and Vienna's municipal representative, Mr. Thomas Resh.
«It is essential for us to introduce the world to Ukrainian culture. Nearly all festival participants are graduates of the legendary Odesa school named after Stolyarsky. We are thrilled that the collaboration between Odesa and Vienna will culminate in such a wonderful cultural event», – the Mayor remarked.
Additionally, the parties discussed various aspects of their joint efforts, particularly Vienna's extensive experience working with UNESCO, as the city's historic center has been listed as a World Heritage site since 2001.
«We are very pleased that our city has been chosen to host this conference and festival. We are ready to provide all necessary assistance in the organization», – Mr. Resh noted.
The Vienna representatives also suggested holding a joint round table to discuss issues related to the preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage and the management of large UNESCO sites, using Vienna as a case study.
