Prisoner Exchange: New Milestones for Ukraine
On July 23, the latest stage of the prisoner exchange, agreed upon in Istanbul, occurred.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky via Telegram.
Returning home are those who are critically ill and severely wounded. We can now proudly state that over 1000 of our people have been brought back through all stages of the recent agreements. This is a moment of joy for thousands of families who can embrace their loved ones once again. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this effort.
The soldiers returning today defended Ukraine across various fronts. Many have been held captive for over three years. All will receive the necessary support and medical assistance.
It is crucial that exchanges are ongoing, and our people are coming home. Thank you to everyone who continues this vital work. Bringing all our people back is a priority for the state. We will persist in our efforts to ensure that every one of our citizens returns from captivity.
