Attacks on Odessa's Cultural Heritage

As a result of a nighttime drone attack by Russia on June 20, cultural heritage sites in Odessa were damaged.

This was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine.

Significant damage was inflicted on a local architectural landmark — a residential complex located at 4 Seminar Street. The building, constructed in 1912–1913 by architect Y.M. Ponomarenko, was affected by a fire caused by a drone strike.

Additionally, a historical building from the early 20th century — the former brewery on French Boulevard — was also damaged. The blast wave shattered windows and doors of the structure.

Russian strikes continue to destroy the historical memory of Ukrainian cities, their cultural identity, and architectural legacy.

We are documenting all instances of crimes against cultural heritage for future international investigations and accountability of the aggressor.
