Return of the Fallen
As a result of recent repatriation efforts, the bodies of 1200 fallen individuals have been returned to Ukraine.
According to the Russian side, these bodies belong to citizens of Ukraine, particularly military personnel. The repatriation occurred in line with agreements made in Istanbul.
The successful return was facilitated by the collaborative work of the Coordination Headquarters for POWs, the Joint Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other security sector bodies.
Law enforcement investigators, along with expert institutions, will conduct necessary examinations and identifications of the repatriated bodies.
We express our gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.
Special thanks are extended to the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are responsible for transporting the repatriated individuals to designated state facilities and organizing their handover to law enforcement representatives.
