WTA Rankings Updated: Ukrainian Tennis Players Shine

On Monday, June 9, the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) updated its rankings.

Ukraine's top player, Elina Svitolina, climbed to the 13th position after reaching the quarter-finals at Roland Garros. Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the finalist of the French Open, continues to lead the rankings. American Coco Gauff, the tournament champion, holds the second spot.

Chinese player Zheng Qinwen has risen to her career-high fifth position from seventh after her quarter-final showing at the clay major. In contrast, Polish player Iga Swiatek dropped down after failing to defend her title in the French capital.

In the bottom half of the top ten, Spaniard Paula Badosa and American Emma Navarro swapped places.

French semi-finalist Lois Boisson made a sensational leap from 361st to 65th.

Ukraine's second player, Marta Kostyuk, fell one spot to 26th after exiting in the first round of the French Open.

Dayana Yastremska improved by three positions to 45th.

Julia Starodubtseva achieved notable progress, reaching 67th after making her debut in the third round of a major, setting a personal record.

Angelina Kalinina returned to the top 100 at 96th. Daria Snigur remained at 151st.

Alexandra Oliynykova reached her career-best position at 202nd. Anastasia Soboleva also improved her ranking to 244th after qualifying for Roland Garros.
