Odesa Grand Prix: A Celebration of Cycling Heritage

On August 31, Odesa hosted the impressive cycling event known as the Odesa Grand Prix, which has become a significant part of the city's cultural heritage. 

This year, the Odesa Grand Prix attracted cycling enthusiasts from the Republic of Moldova, Mykolaiv, Lviv, Nemyriv, and Zaporizhzhia. 

The second day of the competition featured the Odesa Championship in sprint cycling events, known for its fierce competition. 

Among the winners in various age categories were local cyclists: Oleg Ivankov (Atlet CG), Andriy Pyrkh, Yuriy Anderson, Yuriy Smirnov, Andriy Hladkyi, Andriy Shvets, Serhiy Lychko, Hryhoriy Bayrak, Mykola Vakhrameyev, Vladyslav Salyuk, Yuriy Smirnov (Project 13), and Hryhoriy Savenko.

The first Odesa Grand Prix was held in 1995 under a cup system. By 2007, it gained national status, and from 2015 to 2019, the cycling events were conducted as international competitions with a UCI category.
