Odessa Athletes Shine at the 2025 International Children's Games

Young athletes from Odessa have returned from the 57th International Children's Games held this year in Tallinn, Estonia.

This prestigious event gathered around 900 participants from 70 cities worldwide, with Odessa making its debut.

This year's games featured 7 sports: 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, judo, swimming, athletics, fencing, and football.

Odessa's athletes competed in swimming and 3x3 basketball, achieving commendable results.

The first medal for the Odessa team was won by Anastasia Marina, who took gold in the 50-meter butterfly swimming event.

Ivan Ryaduev secured 1st place in the 100m freestyle with a time of 51.86, setting a new personal best and a new Ukrainian record.

In the mixed relay (combined style), the Odessa team finished in 5th place out of 28 teams.

In the 3x3 basketball competitions, both teams (boys and girls) performed well in the group stages, advancing to the playoffs.

Since 1968, the International Children's Games have upheld a touching tradition of exchanging souvenirs, embodying pride as athletes from 73 cities in 28 countries showcase their city and national colors.

The International Children's Games represent more than just sports; they foster friendship, unity, respect, and new friendships.

Odessa expresses immense gratitude to its Estonian partner Tallinn for providing opportunities for sports exchange for young athletes.

The participation of the Odessa team in the 57th International Children's Games was made possible through the direct support of the Department of International Cooperation, Culture, and Marketing, along with the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Odessa City Council.
