Ukrainian Veterans Shine at Historical Regatta in Venice
For the first time in the history of the Historical Regatta in Venice, a crew of veterans from Odesa took to the waters of the Grand Canal.
Our brave men, who have faced the front lines and sustained injuries, proudly took their place in a legendary boat to demonstrate the strength of spirit and resilience of Ukrainian soldiers.
Amidst a kaleidoscope of colorful boats, historical costumes, gondoliers, and thousands of spectators from around the world, the call of «Glory to Ukraine!» resonated loudly, and Ukrainian flags waved proudly. It is symbolic: even after losses and trials, Ukrainians possess the strength to triumph – both in war and in life.
Ukraine resonates in the heart of Venice, Odesa stands beside friends who understand and support us. Odesa Days in Venice continue!
The Historical Regatta is not just a sporting event but a cultural occasion with over 700 years of tradition, attracting countless spectators. The presence of our veterans in Venice and their participation in the competition were made possible by the support of Venice's mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, and the local community.
