Sweden Funds Rehabilitation Center for Ukrainian Soldiers

The government of Sweden has decided to finance the establishment of a rehabilitation center in Ukraine for injured military personnel.

This was confirmed by the press service of the Swedish government.

The center will be part of a project that NATO and Ukraine have been jointly implementing over the past two years.

The project's main goal is to provide rehabilitation for wounded servicemen, enabling them to return to active duty in the Armed Forces of Ukraine or to lead fulfilling civilian lives.

“Ukraine is fighting not only for its freedom but for ours as well,” emphasized Sweden's Minister of Civil Defense, Carl-Oscar Bolin.

Health Minister Ako Ankarberg Johansson stated that support for the rehabilitation of injured soldiers is highly demanded.

“This assistance will also play a crucial role in the reform and modernization of the Ukrainian healthcare system. I am very pleased that Swedish expertise and interest in Ukraine can contribute to this,” she said.

The task assigned by the Swedish government includes the modernization and adaptation of the existing building in Ukraine, the purchase and installation of modern medical rehabilitation equipment, as well as the training of relevant medical personnel in the fields of traumatology, trauma medicine, and physical and psychological rehabilitation.

The project is set to be implemented from July 2025 to July 2027.
