Celebrating 52 Years of Chornomorsk with Record-Breaking Borscht

Today, April 12, 2025, the city of Chornomorsk marks its 52nd anniversary. To celebrate this occasion, the city prepared 2 tons of green borscht with quail and ostrich eggs, setting a new national record for Ukraine.

This was reported by the Telegram channel «Odesa Life».

The mayor of Chornomorsk, Vasyl Hulyaiev, mentioned that the city day was celebrated deliciously and patriotically.

The record-breaking borscht (which required 100 ostrich eggs) was cooked outdoors during a charity fair near the Sports Palace. Local chefs, volunteers, youth, and entrepreneurs participated in its preparation. Afterward, everyone had the chance to taste it.

Residents and guests of Chornomorsk could visit festive fairs and enjoy delicious street food. All funds raised today will be donated to support our Armed Forces.

Chornomorsk (formerly known as Illichivsk until 2016) is a city of district significance in the Odesa region, located 16 kilometers from Odesa, on the right bank of the Sukhyi Lyman. It is one of the youngest cities in Ukraine and serves as a major seaport on the Black Sea, being the third largest in Ukraine.
