New Pilot Boat for Ukrainian Waters
This is reported by the press service of the Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine.
It is noted that the new high-speed boat will help optimize the costs for the «Delta Pilot» branch by reducing fuel consumption and will eliminate delays in the timely delivery of maritime pilots to vessels.
“The launch of this new pilot boat is an important step in strengthening our fleet and supporting the efficient operation of the ports,” says AMPUs head Oleksandr Semyrha.
The boat is named after Serhiy Cheberyakov, an experienced pilot who dedicated over 18 years to maritime affairs and trained several generations of specialists. Serhiy Cheberyakov tragically died in 2023 while trying to escape from the occupied territory of Kherson.
In December 2024, the pilot boat «Bolotyn» began operations on the Danube, built with support from the USAID program, while the construction of a third boat is ongoing in Izmir, Turkey.
