New Stamp Series: Lighthouses of Ukraine
Ukrposhta has announced a new series of stamps depicting lighthouses of the Black and Azov Seas, including those located in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
This set is part of the "Lighthouses of Ukraine" series, which was initiated in 2009, the company reported.
The release of this year’s stamps coincides with the 25th anniversary of the State Hydrographic Service, the agency responsible for maintaining Ukrainian lighthouses.
“These stamps will tell the stories of the lighthouses of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the Crimean lighthouses, which, although temporarily occupied, remain an integral part of Ukraine both on the map and in the hearts of Ukrainians,” explained Ukrposhta.
The set features:
- the Aytodor and Chaudin lighthouses in Crimea;
- the Shagan lighthouse in the Odessa region;
- the Bilosaraysk and Berdyansk Upper lighthouses in the Sea of Azov;
- the Russian Rear lighthouse, or the Buzi-Dnipro-Liman canal lighthouse, in the Mykolaiv region.
