New Horizons for Supporting People with Disabilities in Bremen
The Friedehorst Foundation in Bremen is renowned for its long-standing commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities across all age groups, as well as the elderly. This organization exemplifies a comprehensive approach to social services, adaptation, and rehabilitation.
During our visit, we explored the work of various departments within the foundation, including those specializing in care for individuals with disabilities, rehabilitation programs for both children and adults, and modern methods of supporting the elderly.
This experience is incredibly valuable for the Odesa region, as we aim to develop our area towards accessibility and create conditions for the social integration of all population categories. We discussed potential cooperation in knowledge exchange, implementation of modern rehabilitation technologies, and the development of training programs for professionals working with individuals with disabilities.
Special attention was given to issues related to developing long-term strategies for supporting socially vulnerable groups that could be adapted to our regional conditions.
We are grateful to our colleagues at Friedehorst for their openness and willingness to share their insights. Such collaboration is a crucial step towards improving the quality of life for residents of the Odesa region.
