Cystoscopy in Odesa: The Importance of Early Diagnosis

Last year, over 2500 cystoscopic examinations were conducted in medical institutions in Odesa. Cystoscopy is a procedure used to examine the lining of the urethra, bladder, and ureters with a cystoscope, allowing for early detection of urinary tract cancers.

It is recommended for individuals over 50 to undergo cystoscopy routinely, even in the absence of complaints. If a patient is under 50 but the doctor deems the examination necessary, they must obtain a referral to schedule an appointment at a facility that performs cystoscopy.

Cystoscopy is included in the state medical guarantee program and is performed free of charge with a referral from a family or attending physician.

Modern cystoscopic equipment has been purchased for medical institutions in Odesa using city budget funds. Patients can undergo cystoscopy free of charge by appointment at the following addresses:
- Consultative and Diagnostic Center No. 6 — 26a Dobrovoltsiv St. (Marshal Horovov);
- City Clinical Hospital No. 10 — 61 Oleksii Vadaturskyi St. (Marshal Malynovskyi);
- City Clinical Hospital No. 11 — 5 Vitalii Nesterenko St. (Academician Vorobyov).
