UNDP Training in Odesa: Support for Local Communities

Odesa hosted a training session organized by the UNDP team focused on implementing infrastructure projects under the Emergency Credit Program for Ukraine's recovery.

Over two days, local governance representatives from 15 communities across 6 regions had the opportunity to engage with UNDP experts, seek advice, and address questions regarding their project implementations.

At the opening, Odesa's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, expressed gratitude to UNDP for their collaboration and support for new initiatives.

"Our cooperation began in 2020. I have always insisted that we showcase our openness and efficiency. From 5 projects worth over 276 million UAH, we have now achieved 7 projects valued at over 813 million UAH, which we hope to complete by 2025," said Hennadiy Trukhanov.

Among the projects in Odesa are the reconstruction of educational institutions and healthcare facilities. Recently, the reconstruction of school No. 41 and the outpatient department of city hospital No. 8 was completed. The reconstruction of three more schools is in progress.

There are also plans for major repairs of two schools, a maternity hospital, and the infectious disease hospital.

Project implementation occurs under co-financing conditions, with local budgets contributing 20%.
