Free DevOps Course for Veterans and Their Families
The Ukrainian Veteran Fund, recruitment platform Lobby X, and IT company SoftServe are excited to launch a free DevOps Fundamentals course for veterans, military personnel, their families, and families of fallen defenders.
The course includes:
- fundamentals of Git/GitHub;
- Linux: file system structure and basic administration tasks;
- scripting languages Bash and PowerShell;
- concepts of network support: protocols, IP addresses, subnetting, and routing;
- working with popular CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions;
- cloud providers IaaS, PaaS/Hosting;
- working with AWS, Azure, and GCP;
- artifacts in DevOps and their role in development;
- soft skills necessary for the IT industry;
- job search tips, resume preparation, and more.
The knowledge gained during the course will enable participants to master the basics of DevOps, work with databases, set up their work environment, and optimize project deployment processes. This will help future DevOps specialists implement changes and automate processes effectively at every stage of development.
Classes will be held twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6 PM to 8 PM, via Zoom. Experienced mentors will introduce theoretical foundations and review practical exercises and homework.
Lectures will be recorded for those who cannot join online.
The course starts on February 3rd, and will last for 9 weeks.
Requirements for participation:
a laptop (computer), internet access, and time for homework.
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate.
Registration is open until January 29th (inclusive) by filling out the form.
Spaces are limited, so after registration, participants will need to complete a small test task on basic concepts and create a Discord account.
